Chair Application

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Attend ALL chair and committee meetings as well as general club meetings.
  2. Maintain COMPLETE and current records for the entire committee of all contact information, projects, hours, and volunteers for future club reference and chair reports.
  3. Turn in (or email) monthly chair reports to the VP by the fifth of the month.
  4. Communicate with your committee frequently! Coordinate regular meetings and other communication within the committee.
  5. Delegate committee duties and responsibilities among committee members. Organize and oversee all committee activities.
  6. Come to your weekly office hour and use that time to talk to the e-board and your committee members.
  7. Actively seek out ways to collaborate with other committees and initiate such collaboration.
  8. Make sure that:
    1. Every committee member gets all project information for the weekly agenda to the board by 4pm on Wednesday (email ckiboard@umich.edu).
    2. Every committee member reports names and hours for each project to the Secretary within two days of the event via email.
    3. Every committee member gets permission from the treasurer before making any purchases and turns in all expense vouchers to the Treasurer within a week.
    4. Project sign-up sheets are dropped off in the office BEFORE 6pm on Thursday and sheets for projects in the next week are picked up after the meeting.
    5. All information on the project sign-up sheets is filled out AND clear.
    6. All of your committee’s information (projects dates and times, etc) is correct and current on the CKI webpage.
    7. EVERYONE on the sign-up sheet for a project is contacted by phone, regardless of if they are going to the event or not.
