IV. MEMBERS OF THE MONTH The Members of the Month for October are: <> Nicole Tyrna <> Min Chong Congratulations! V. PROJECTS IN REVIEW Min talked about teaching kids about nature at Animal Haunts and having a great time despite the cold. Chris told us how successful Trick-or-Can was on Tuesday, and that we exceeded the amount we brought in last year. Whitney talked about an adorable boy at the Mott Hospital Halloween Party who insisted they keep taking pictures of him. At the Dexter Halloween Party, Amy S. had a great time eating pizza, donuts, and cider, and helped kids play games for prizes. VI. BIRTHDAY COMPETITION Every month we have a friendly competition to recognize birthdays, and this competition celebrated November and May birthdays. Contestants were each given a piece of pumpkin pie to consume as quickly as possible without using hands. Congratulations, Shreyance, for winning that competition. VII. SOCIAL ISSUE OF THE MONTH VIDEO The video documented the lives of various families in Africa, where AIDS has become a pandemic. There will be Free HIV Testing at the Trotter Multicultural Center on Nov. 8th, Nov. 22nd, and Dec. 6th from 7-9pm. We will be having PR Events for World AIDS Week, which will count as service hours. VIII. UPCOMING PROJECTS Sequoia Place with Food Gatherers is a project to help elderly residents on a tight budget "shop" for food to ensure that they stay on a nutritious diet. We will be going this Saturday to help unload the food delivered by Food Gatherers and then set it up on tables for the residents to peruse. Tiny Tots is on Friday morning, and we will be playing with toddlers who are accompanied by their parents. This Saturday will be the last chance to pass out Michigan Dailys, so sign up if you want your dues money back. Circle K Service Day is our large scale annual event that will take place on Saturday, November 11th from 9am to Sunday at 9am this year. There will be 24 hours worth of projects to attend, free food throughout the day, and friends to hang out with during down-time. OTHER PROJECTS: <> K-Kids Meeting.................Fri.
