CALL TO ORDER, President Nick Hoffman, 7:10 pm II. WELCOME Welcome to everyone, especially our guest Don Kossick from Ann Arbor Downtown Kiwanis. III. SOCIAL SUGGESTION BOX This week, the Membership Development Committee introduced us to the new Social Suggestion Box, where anyone can place ideas for Circle K socials. If your social is picked, you will be entered into a drawing for a fabulous prize! IV. FALL LEADERSHIP TRAINING CONFERENCE IN REVIEW Last weekend, six members of U-M Circle K traveled to Three Rivers, Michigan for the Michigan District's Fall Leadership Training Conference. We had fun playing games like Survivor, attending forums on massaging and setting up large scale events, packaging meals for Children Against Hunger, throwing pies in our President's face, doing a low-ropes course, and meeting members of other Circle K clubs in our district. V. SOCIAL ISSUE OF THE MONTH: HURRICANE KATRINA As a continuation of our Social Issue of the month programming, we did an activity called "Habitat House". Some people were blindfolded and represented the volunteers after a disaster situation like Hurricane Katrina, while people who were not blindfolded but could not speak at all represented the people affected by such a disaster. Everyone started out standing in a group with a piece of rope tangled around them. The object was to untangle the rope and end up in a square with every person still holding on to a piece of the rope. Afterwards, we reflected on the difficulties we had and how the principles we used in completing the activity related to the Hurricane Katrina relief efforts. VI. SWEATSHIRT DESIGNING The Public Relations Committee is planning on getting sweatshirts made for our Circle K club. We spent a portion of the meeting creating possible designs in groups of 4-5 and then presenting our ideas. Everyone had a chance to cast their vote for the design they liked the best. VII. UPCOMING PROJECTS Nick Hoffman told us about Eastern Michigan University Circle K's Inductions Ceremony on Monday evening. The event is business casual and food will be provided. Holly Templeton talked about the Neutral Zone's end of the year mailing, where you can stuff envelopes while eating pizza and watching movies! The Membership Development Committee had volunteers come up and do charades depicting the annual Circle K ski trip, which will take place in early January. Finally, Stefanie Theis reminded us that this Saturday is the last opportunity to pass out Michigan Dailys outside of Michigan Stadium and be reimbursed for a portion of your dues. We know that our turkey will be a Butterball rather than a Grade E yet semi-edible fur ball. 4. Our mothers will not be serving us mashed potatoes and stuffing with an ice cream scooper. 3. After our eighth glass of cider, our emergency dash to the bathroom will not be delayed by having to line the seat with toilet paper. 2. We can eat our corn steamed with butter rather than popped in the microwave. 1. We won't have to eat our Thanksgiving meal off a tray!
