CALL TO ORDER, President Lisa Slominski, 7:10pm II. WELCOME to everyone, especially guests Don Kossick and Bill Tasch from Downtown Ann Arbor Kiwanis, as well as Amanda from Phi Sigma Pi and April from the Arboretum. III. PHI SIGMA PI SPEAKER Phi Sigma Pi is a co-ed national honors fraternity. They are looking to organize a 5K run with other service groups on campus to raise money for "Hole in the Wall" camps, a network of camps across the country for disadvantaged youth. Besides participating as a runner in the event you can help out by signing up for one of the two projects we are doing with the event. The run is on Saturday April 16, and you can find more information about the projects on the calendar at www.umcirclek.org IV. SOCIAL ISSUE OF THE MONTH SPEAKER Nichols Arboretum is over 100 years old. In the past, species of plants not native to Michigan were purposely brought in from around the world in the mistaken belief that it would make the Arb a better place. The reality is that these invasive plants are harming the natural ecosystem and efforts must be made to remove them. Circle K helped with this effort by providing volunteers on Saturday to clear away some of these invasive plants. V. CIRCLE K WORKSHOPS In an effort to be a little more productive at our meetings, we had some workshops on various issues facing the club. There were two rotations so members had the option of going to two of the four topics being discussed. The topics were: SORDA and the website, Sweatshirt design, Business cards for Circle K with a one sentence description, and an overview of some service hour statistics for our club. VI. Then again later while standing on my friend's lawn with about four or five other people. It was pretty awesome. Exactly who is disturbing the peace here?
