PROVIDES UPDATE Brain Bae gave us an update on the child UM Circle K is sponsoring though the PROVIDES organization. We got a letter telling us all about how she is doing. Right now she is looking forward to school. We will be hearing more about her in the weeks and months to come. VII. HALLOWEEN SKITS To have a little Halloween fun at our meeting we performed some Halloween skits. All the skits were made up right on the spot by groups of Circle Kers and were pretty funny. Cards were handed out with random Halloween and Circle K words on them and then the groups had a few minutes to come up with a skit involving all the words before performing it in front of the meeting. All of the skits were very good except for the one depicting the killing of Bruce the cat, which was terrible. VIII. INTERROGATION BOX Suruchi came up to face the horror of the box and drew the question: "Explain why Gatica and Starship Troopers were both terrible movies." Having thought that neither movie was all that bad, she was able to pick a new question and we now know that for exactly $112,000 she will go for 3 months without bathing. I hope she uses that money to buy some new friends. IX. CLOSING Next week's meeting is Inductions, and starting at 6pm we will be having dinner in the Pendleton room of the Union. Please dress nicely, i.e. no jeans or t-shirts. If you have still not handed in your membership form, it's not too late to become a member, however we may not be able to call off your name at Inductions. ---THE UNIVERSITY OF MICHIGAN CIRCLE K--- * * * * * # # * MEETINGS: Thursdays, 7pm, Union * # # * "The greatest WEB PAGE: www.umcirclek.org * # # * service to E-MAIL: circlek@umich.edu * ### * yourself * # # * is service OFFICE: 4213 Michigan Union * # # * to others" HOURS: 2-5pm M-Th * # # * PHONE: 615-0523 * * * * ------------------------------------------------------------------------ The mission of the University of Michigan Circle K is to: Inspire and empower college students to develop a lifetime commitment to serving the community through a variety of projects, a plethora of leadership opportunities, and a dynamic social atmosphere while allowing members to be engaged in what is important to them. )*()*()*()*()*( I am now 21 )*()*()*()*()*( Like the header above says, I am in fact now 21 years old. My birthday was Thursday night right after the meeting, and Lisa threw me a (kind of) surprise party which was a lot of fun, (and partially explains why you didn't get this email until now.) All in all though I had a pretty awesome birthday. I'm not asking a question this time due to low response levels, so if you have a problem with that you can email: thisisnotreallyanemailaddressijustputitheretofoolyou@umich.edu
