CALL TO ORDER, President Payal Patel, 7:10pm II. WELCOME to everyone, especially guests Don Kossick from the Ann Arbor Downtown Kiwanis, Michael Briggs, Bill Schwabb, Diane Schwabb, and Ed Haller from Manchester Kiwanis, and Becky Brant from Home of New Vision. III. WHAT IS CIRCLE K SKIT Circle K competed with a fictitious campus organization in order to win a new member. The new member learned about the service, leadership, and friendship aspects of Circle K, and in the end, made the wise decision to join. IV. JOIN THE CLUB Please turn in your membership forms and dues to the Circle K office or any board member. Forms are available at meetings, in the Circle K Office, and on the website. (www.umcirclek.org) V. COMMITTEE APPLICATIONS Any member who is not presently on a committee now has the opportunity to join one! This is a chair position, however it will be filled several months prior to the other chair positions in order to have plenty of training and transition time. APPLICATIONS ARE DUE JANUARY 22ND! HOME OF NEW VISION SPEAKER Becky Brant from Home of New Vision spoke about the organization, and how people can get involved. Home of New Vision is a Non-Profit organization that provides a structured, safe environment for women committed to ongoing recovery from chemical dependency. Circle K'ers volunteer to help baby sit the children of these women while they are attending therapy and support groups. If you would like to get involved, email Stephanie Watson - smwats@umich.edu. VII. BIRTHDAYS The Birthday Competition returned for all members celebrating birthdays in January, or half-birthdays in July. FOCUS TEAMS Focus Teams are groups of people who come together because of a common interest. They are like short-term committees. (But can also be long-term if desired). PROJECTS IN REVIEW Eric told us about the Ski Trip, which was a great overnight event that allowed people to relax, have fun, and get to know each other better. Rula talked about Green Baxter, and how cute the kids are. Every time we go they are so excited about the craft we will be doing with them that day. XI. (I have 7). One was on the desk on the left side of my bed (plugged into a surge protector), and the other on a stand on the right side of my bed. (battery operated) I'm not really sure what happened in the morning, but when I woke up long after I was supposed to, the left-side alarm clock was on the floor on the complete other side of the room. (the right side) What happened? How did it get there? Did I get so mad that it was making noise that I unplugged it and threw it? I think I would remember something like that. It's a mystery.
