CALL TO ORDER, President Mike Pearson, 7:10pm II. WELCOME to everyone, especially guests Dexter Kiwanian Gerry Lutz, K-Grams Representative Kristen Klanow, and Sarah Kraft from the Washtenaw Shelter Association. III. MLA AWARDS Circle won two MLA awards for last year: Program of the Year: Bowl-A-Thon Outstanding New Member: Lisa Slominski IV. CHARADES Several members acted out what they did over Spring Break via charades. Vacation choices included California, Florida, and Philadelphia. V. K-GRAMS SPEAKER Kristen Klanow told us about Kids Fair. On March 21, 2003 over 1,000 1st - 5th grade students from ten schools in Ann Arbor, Detroit, and Ypsilanti will be coming to the University of Michigan campus for the Fifth Annual K-grams Kids-Fair. This winter, at Crisler Arena, all of these students, over 1,000 college buddies, and 115 student groups will come together to celebrate the entire year of reading, writing, swingin', and smilin'! ADOPT A WEEK at the WASHTENAW SHELTER ASSOCIATION Sarah Craft spoke about the Washtenaw Shelter Association and the Adopt-A-Week program. Circle K has adopted the week from March 17-23. We will be covering the night shift at both the men's and women's shelters every night during that week. Anyone who has been trained is welcome to sign up. If you have not been trained, it's not too late! Email Stephanie Watson at smwats@umich.edu. VIII. PROJECTS ~ BOOK NIGHT: Fri. Mar. 7, 5:30pm-9:00pm ~ We will be hosting a night to promote reading with the students at Holmes Elementary School. We will be playing games, doing arts and crafts projects and making snacks, while learning about the books we have collected to donate to the kids. ~ K-KIDS NURSING HOME PARTY: Fri. Mar. 7, 12:00pm-4:00pm ~ We will be going to a nursing home in Detroit and putting on a party for the residents with the K-Kids. The theme of the party is 'Price is Right', and we will have games, food, and crafts for the residents of the nursing home and the 6th graders that we have been working with all year. ~ CHARIT-A-BOWL: Sun. Mar. 23, 3:00pm-8:00pm ~ Charit-A-Bowl is the Second Annual Circle K run Charity Bowling Tournament. Teams composed of people all over campus will pay the 90 Dollar registration fee and compete to donate the Registration money to the Chairty of their Choice!
